You mostly missed the point.

  1. McBride and Roem are great people and fantastic representatives. But, if they’re gerrymandered into irrelevance (like in NC, WI, TX) there’s nothing of they can provide. In fact, there may be of NEGATIVE value, because it provides a false veneer of democracy, pretending that the opposition can actually do anything by allowing them to exist. The problem with our democracy runs way deeper
  2. SCOTUS decisions are coming, and as long as they decide ANYTHING is controversial at all, they’re likely to kick it back to the states. I stand by my assertion that Obergefell is a goner, and Lawrence probably as well.
  3. The GOP is laying the groundwork to seize permanent control, regardless of how people vote. They’re succeeding. Pretending like we have electoral solutions in a country that’s no longer a democracy is anesthetizing people to the very bad things that are coming. Indeed, they make us even less prepared.
